Founded in 1983, St. Luke’s Catholic Medical Services is a private internal medicine physician practice providing medical and healthcare services for the poor, uninsured and underinsured in a Catholic Christian setting.
We at St. Luke’s Catholic Medical Services are committed to providing quality, compassionate, medical and healthcare services to our patients on a twenty-four hour basis in addressing the medical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of our patients.
Annually, we assist more than 1,000 unduplicated patients with their clinical needs.
On average, St. Luke’s provides nearly 5,700 patient visits as outlined below:
- Office visits 3,100
- Inpatient visits 2,300
- Nursing Home visits 250
- Home visits 50
HOW YOU CAN HELP
With 43% of the patient volume at St. Luke’s coming from uninsured or underinsured patients, the practice faces significant annual operating deficits. If you are interested in volunteering at St. Luke’s, we have the following opportunities available:
- Contact patients to confirm office appointments
- Arrange follow-up appointments with other providers and human service agencies for the patients
- Assist with the breakdown and organization of drug samples
- Perform and document vital signs in preparation for medical practitioner exam (Assumes individual has such knowledge or is willing to learn.)
- Assist with office organization and paperwork
