The goal of the CRS Committee of the Diocese in Camden is to engage our Parishes in the work of Catholic Relief Services. In doing this we wish to create more international focus in the diocese, enriching the current relief programs and introducing new, relevant opportunities for our local parishes to work in global solidarity towards poverty relief and social justice.
COMMITTEE CORE STRATEGIES
- Leadership
The primary strategy of the Project ONE Global Committee is to facilitate, promote and plan the global initiatives in the Diocese of Camden. We aim to create a global focus for this agency so that it may continue to provide quality service and support to our most poor and vulnerable members, both those in the U.S. and abroad, through direct service, advocacy and empowerment.
- Program Capacity
The 2nd strategy of the committee is to efficiently and effectively coordinate and expand the selected CRS programs in the Diocese of Camden. By advocating and training for social justice initiatives in every parish in the Diocese, we provide the opportunity to support and participate in the programs. This strategy focuses on building the capacity of each parish so that there is more involvement, organization and impact of the programs in the Diocese of Camden.
- Education and Awareness
The 3rd strategy of the Project ONE Global Committee is to spread education and awareness of global issues affecting our brothers and sisters abroad. Drawing on the Catholic Social Teachings, we aim to engage and educate parishioners in the Diocese of Camden. See Education Materials, Recent Articles and our blog.
- Spiritual Reflection
The 4th strategy of the committee is to include spiritual reflection and prayer as a core component of our programs. Reflection and prayer link our global concerns and education to a deeper meaning and nourish the spiritual need of our community. Creating this meaningful connection between parishioners in the Diocese of Camden and Catholics abroad will reinforce their desire to live as "One Human Family." See Reflection Materials to Connect Service, Social Justice and Faith in your life.
