Behavioral Health Program

Catholic Charities' Behavioral Healthcare Services ministers to those who may have exhausted their personal resources to overcome barriers to personal happiness, by providing them professional, spiritually-competent, strength-based, systems-oriented psychotherapy, supportive services, and opportunities for personal growth, healing, and reconciliation.

Volunteers can assist the Behavioral Health program through data collection and entry, statistical analysis, and special research projects. To learn more about the Behavioral Health program, click here.

Refugee Resettlement Program

In light of our nation's humble beginnings and Jesus' call to embrace the stranger, the Office of Refugee Resettlement Services helps to ease human suffering and encourage the self-sufficiency of those newly arrived. We teach the American values of independence and individuality while supporting the tradition of a strong family unit. To learn more about the Refugee Resettlement Program call 856-342-4167.

Volunteers can assist the Refugee Resettlement program by teaching life skills to newcomers, assisting with direct client needs (scheduling appointments, helping clients to appointments, and mentoring) as well assist staff with data entry, research and compiling administrative reports.

Family and Community Services Centers

Family and Community Services Centers provide financial assistance, information and referral services to those living in the diocese who may be experiencing a variety of difficulties. To learn more about the centers, click here.

Volunteers can assist with client intakes, distribution of food, data entry and administrative support in each of the six county offices.

Warehouse Operations

In order to meet the material needs of our clients and provide our donors with the opportunity to donate gently used household items and furniture. Catholic Charities operates a Warehouse, which is open to the public two days a week. To learn more about the Warehouse, click here.

Volunteers can assist the Warehouse program by picking up furniture and household items, staffing the warehouse (Tuesdays and Thursdays) or assisting in the office with delivery scheduling, data entry and inventory control.

Maintenance and Repairs

Periodically the buildings we use to serve our clients are in need of repairs, fresh paint, cleaning, or small scale construction projects to enhance services.

Volunteers can assist by building shelves, repairing leaks or cleaning out storage areas in any of our offices throughout the six counties we serve in southern New Jersey.

Hospitality

Many, many, many clients, parishioners, volunteers and diocesan staff visit the Human Service Center each day. We try to warmly welcome each visitor, offer something to drink and make them comfortable as they wait for their appointment.

Volunteers can help answer the phones, greet individuals in person and extend hospitality to all who enter the Human Service Center for appointments and services.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Catholic Charities. For more information, please contact Jennifer L. Dyer at 856-342-4107 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
